Auburn freshman punter Patrick Tatum has been named the Southeastern Conference’s Special Teams Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
Tatum punted four times during Auburn’s 55-20 victory over New Mexico State last Saturday for a 45.5-yard average. None of his four punts were returned, and all four were placed inside the 20-yard line.

The Auburn football game on Oct. 6 against Vanderbilt at Jordan-Hare Stadium will be televised by Lincoln Financial Sports, the Southeastern Conference announced Monday. Kickoff is slated for 11:30 a.m. CT.
It will mark the second time this year the Tigers have been on Lincoln Financial Sports. Auburn’s 19-14 loss to Mississippi State on Sept. 15 was televised by LFS.

Kickoff at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium slated for 7 p.m. CT
The Auburn (2-2, 0-1 SEC) football game on Sept. 29 at third-ranked Florida (4-0, 2-0 SEC) will be televised by ESPN, the Southeastern Conference announced Sunday. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. CT (8 p.m. ET).
It will mark the second time this year the Tigers have been on ESPN and seventh time in the last three seasons. Auburn’s season-opening win against Kansas State on Sept. 1 was also televised by ESPN.
Auburn will be making its first trip to Gainesville since 2002, when the Gators defeated the Tigers, 30-23, in overtime. Auburn leads the all-time series, 41-38-2, while Florida holds a 23-8 advantage in Gainesville. The Tigers’ last victory at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium was in 1994. The Tigers won last year’s meeting, 27-17, in Auburn.
The Tigers defeated New Mexico State, 55-20, on Saturday at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

CBS has elected to use a six-day selection for football games to be played on Saturday, Sept. 29. ESPN, ESPN2 and Lincoln Financial will also televise games on Sept. 29.
Auburn’s football game at Florida on Sept. 29 will be televised by either CBS at 4 p.m. CT or by ESPN at 7 p.m. CT.
Auburn (1-2) will host New Mexico State (2-1) this Saturday at 6 p.m. CT. The game will be televised on a pay-per-view basis.

Arista recording artist and former Auburn University student Taylor Hicks will be featured during the Auburn University Marching Band’s show during the Mississippi State at Auburn football game on Sept. 15. The Auburn University Marching Band, under the direction of Dr. Corey Spurlin, will perform a medley of songs with Hicks during halftime of the game set to kick-off at 11:30 a.m. CT. Hicks won the fifth season of FOX’s American Idol in 2006. He enrolled at Auburn in 1995 and studied business and journalism for three years. His life as a working musician was established while at Auburn. A native of Birmingham, Hicks is currently touring the country performing tracks from his latest CD titled, Taylor Hicks.

The Auburn baseball team play a total of 21 games against teams that advanced to the 2007 NCAA Baseball Tournament, with nine of those games being played in Plainsman Park, as the 2008 Auburn baseball schedule was announced on Monday by coach Tom Slater.
The season opens on Friday, Feb. 22, with a four-game set against East Tennessee State before Florida State hits Plainsman Park for games on Thursday, Feb. 28 and Friday, Feb. 29. Auburn will then hop on a bus and travel down to Tallahassee for a pair of games with the Seminoles on Saturday, Mar. 1 and Sunday, Mar. 2.
Auburn will play a total of 16 games in 20 days to start the season before hitting the SEC schedule, which begins in Gainesville against Florida (Mar. 14-16). Auburn will also visit Arkansas (Apr. 4-6), Vanderbilt (Apr. 18-20), Alabama (Apr. 22-24) and Ole Miss (May 9-11).
Auburn plays its first home SEC series against Kentucky (Mar. 21-23) and will also play host to SEC foes Tennessee (Mar. 28-30), South Carolina (Apr. 11-13) and Mississippi State (May 2-4) before closing out the conference schedule against LSU (May 15-17).
